Product Description

USB Direct Keyboard-Style Cable for NEW Mitutoyo ID-C Digital Indicators

Send data directly to Excel---No Software Wedge Required
Simplify your data acquisition system. This USB Direct Cable is a single gage interface that connects the Mitutoyo Indicator with S1 Output to a computer. Connects directly to the gage, no additional cables required. The output of the USB Direct Cable is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal.

This is the ideal cable for use with Mitutoyo Digital Drop Indicators with S1 Output because it has a built-in data send button, so you do not disturb the reading by pushing the data send button on the gage. This USB Direct Cable gets the data trigger away from the indicator, so your readings are accurate every time. There is no need to add the expense of a separate footswitch, but if you want to use one, there is a footswitch port on the USB Direct Cable Box to use with a Universal Footswitch.

Connecting this USB Direct Cable with its built-in keyboard interface to a computer will allow the USB Direct Cable to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application or SPC software package - no complicated software wedges required. And nothing changes when your software updates.

The USB Direct Cable will make the gage readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminate data collection errors. If you want to collect data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear. No additional set up required.

Readings can be triggered by any of the following:

  • Pressing the push button on the USB Direct Cable Box
  • Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)
  • Pressing the send button on the gage (if it has one)

Simple to use!
Best of all, this USB Direct Cable is easily configured to output data in different modes, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, right, continuous reading, continuous reading with automatic 10, 15, or 30 second delay between readings. We can also design a unique firmware for your special requirement. The output mode is easily selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the USB Direct Cable. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws.

A detailed operation manual is included with each USB Direct Cable. Six foot standard cable length---special lengths are readily available upon request.
